CASEing Hannelie Bester

Hello everyone!

Did you see Hannelie's card at Time Out Challnege? We are officially allowed to copy or CASE her gorgeous card! I say YAY!!! Her creative design ideas amaze me always, and this card is no exception!

I thought she stenciled that fiery background but it is a cut out window over a blended panel. My first plan was to stencil chevron pattern for my card but a new idea came into my mind and I went with it :). Except for that, I copied her card quite a bit!

To start off I stamped the snowfall stamp from Altenew in yellow, orange and red and clear heat embossed a chevron background stamp on my front panel. I then masked a circle and blended the same inks. Unfortunately I could not wipe off the colors on the clear heat embossing clearly. So the chevron isn't crisp as I wanted. My B&W flowers are from Wishful Wildflowers by The Ton. I stamped several flowers and leaves in black pigment ink, clear heat embossed them and die cut them all with coordinating dies.

I arranged the flowers around the circle, mounting one big flower on foam tape. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches, stamped in black, clear heat embossed and fussy cut, before I foam mounted it on the card.

I hope you like my CASE, Hannelie!!!

Thank you so much for looking!
Have a great weekend!!!

Just for you

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful week so far!

Today I have a card to share with you. I made this for the CAS(E) this Sketch #221 and Inspired by All the Little Things #56. So glad I could combine both challenges in a card :)!

When I saw the inspiration photo at Inspired by All the Little Things, this bicycle stamp by The Ton popped in my mind. It is called Beautiful Day Bicycle. As it has a small flower cluster, which fits on the basket, it looked perfect for my card.
To start off I blended the background using Deep Emerald, Soft GardenCali Blue and Arctic Sky dye inks. To show the rectangle on the sketch of CAS(E) this Sketch I blended Smoky Quartz on the bottom part of the background panel, which gives the bicycle some ground to stand on. The brick embossing folder was used on a Confetti Cream cardstock representing the white wall in the inspiration photo. It was then foam mounted on the background panel. The silver heat embossed bicycle was cut with coordinating die and added on the card. The flower cluster was stamped three times in Caviar Hybrid ink on a snippet of Bristol smooth paper, colored with Zig Brush pens and cut with coordinating die, before being added on the basket. The sentiment in Caviar Hybrid is from Clearly Besotted. To finish off I covered the flowers and the gray part on the background with clear WOS.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Have a crafty day!!!

The Flower Challenge - CASE a DT Member - Reminder

Hello and hopefully happy Monday :)!!!

Today I have a CASE card on which I'm CASEing my own card for The Flower Challenge
We are already in the middle of the month of May and it's time for a reminder card for our Challenge Nr. 8!

I chose the same layout (on another diagonal position of the card) and technique to CASE my previous DT card. If you missed it, here is my card I shared on May. 4th.

And here is the CASE!

I made the front panel first by coloring loose watercolor wash on a watercolor paper using DIs. I then cut the Large peony from Large Peony1 with the leave from Large Peony3 and the buds from Loose Peony by The Ton using coordinating dies from the watercolored panel. I then stamped the images on a white cardstock, the flowers in Ballet Slippers and the leaves in Soft Garden and colored them with Copic markers. This time I didn't use colored pencils. I mounted the panel with the colored images on the card base and added the front panel on it using foam adhesives. To finish off I scattered some sequins from Violet Sprinkle and Royal Garden Party Couture Mix from The Ton.

Oh, I've almost forgot to mention the perfect pearl splatters :)!
The sentiment die is also from The Ton and I added purple "You are" from Brushed Love stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed looking my card and join with us!

Seize the Birthday - Animals

Hello and happy Seize the Birthday Thursday :)!!!

We have ANIMALS as our Toppings Option for the new challenge! Of course you can link up any newly created birthday card, if you want to.

I chose cats as my animals!

I used the fun cat stamp from Art Impressions which I have for a while. I decided to make a front panel with the cats' backside and stamped it on a white card stock in A2 size. I stamped the faces of the cats on a separate cardstock. I used Memento black ink for Copic coloring. After done with coloring I cut out the window. I used a square as my guide, which I cut using a Double Stitched Square Die from The Ton. I then glued the face side on the back of my front panel. I cut out a square from my card base using the same die and glued the front panel flat on the card base. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I stamped it in Memento black and drew a wooden panel hanging on the wall and colored it with Copic markers. For the inside of the card I cut a panel with Double Stitched Rectangle Die, stamped the balloons and the fish from MFT and colored them with Copics as well.
To finish off the card I added a strip of a washi tape under the cats to give them something to stand on.

Still I think this card looks too empty, but I don't know what I can add to :)! Maybe more colors like ink blending or dry embossing?

Hope you will join us at Seize the Birthday! Stop by the challenge blog to see the gorgeous projects my teammates and our surprise party guest Cathy Roffey from Cathys Card Spot created to inspire you!

Thank you so much for looking!
Have a happy day!

Get Well Soon

Hello everyone!

I'm popping in to share a card with you I made for two challenges!
Today's card is my take on the sketch of CAS(E) this Sketch #220 and as I have pretty flowers on my card, I want to enter this into Time Out #82 as well, without optional twist.

I started by dry embossing a white cardstock in A2 size and blending some green DIs on it. I then stamped the flower cluster from Wishful Wildflowers by The Ton on a Bristol smooth paper using Aquamarkers and colored it with Zig brush markers. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted. I white heat embossed it on a strip of black card stock and mounted it flat on the card. The colored image was cut with Coordinating die and foam mounted on the front panel. To finish off I added some clear Dew Drops here and there :)!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!!
So happy to play along at some of my favorite challenges again!
Have a great day!

The Flower Challenge - CASE a DT Member

Hello everyone! Are you enjoying your May?

It's time for a new challenge at The Flower Challenge and we have a fun theme for you all!
We want you to CASE one of the DT cards shown on the blog.

And here is my card I've made for you! I used negative die cut panel as background (maybe foreground is a better term for this :)) and placed my main images on the base. Of course you could take the layout or color combination as inspiration for your project.

To start off I made the front panel by blending some DIs and die cutting two diagonal corners using coordinating die of Sunflower Bouquet stamp set by The Ton. I then dry embossed the panel to add some leaves to the flower image. I placed the Sunflower Bouquet stamp on Misti aligning with the help of the front panel and stamped it on a A2 white card stock twice. For no-line coloring I used inks in the same color like the bouquet. Coloring was done using Copic markers and Polychromos colored pencils.

I taped the panel with flowers flat on the card base and foam mounted the front panel. The white sentiment on black is from Dearest Peony stamp from The Ton. To finish off I coated the flowers with clear Wink of Stella and added some Morning Dew Nuvo Drops.

That's it from me. Please visit The Flower Challenge blog. My talented teammates are sharing awesome cards there. I'm sure you could find a DT card which inspires you to CASE !!!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
Have a happy day!

The Ton May Challenge - Tic Tac Toe

Hello everyone! Hope your start into May was great!

May challenge on The Ton Challenge blog is a fun one! How about a TIC TAC TOE board to play with!!!

I chose the bottom horizontal row and made this card! A circle card with a front panel with an off the edge tulip.

To start off I made the shaped panel and a circle base first. I die cut the front panel from Bristol smooth paper using Double Stitched Circle die and the coordinating die of Lucky Tulip with partial die cutting technique. The card base was cut from a folded white cardstock with Double Stitched Circle die. I stamped the Lucky Tulip on the front panel, the flower in Ballet Slippers and the stem and leaves in Cali Blue, and colored the image using Zig Brush pens and Gansai Tambi pearl colors. You can see the shimmer better on the close-up picture. I then added some splatters in green and white and silver heat embossed the sentiment from Sunflower Bouquet. Before I mounted the front panel on my circle card base I adhered a piece of light blue Adhesive Foil Paper on the base.

To finish off I added a thin strip of Adhesive Glitter Paper silver on the stitch line of the front panel and scattered a few sequins from Violet Sprinkle and Royal Garden Party Couture Mix.

Could you find your favorite combination on the Tic Tac Toe board?
Hope you'll play with us this month!

Seize the Birthday - No Topping

Hello and happy Thursday!
Today starts a new challenge at Seize the Birthday!

For the next fortnight we have a Anything Goes challenge without Toppings option.
I have made a card using a rose bouquet image I colored during the latest The Daily Marker 30day coloring challenge.

The roses were stamped in Tattered rose DI and are from Fresh Cut Garden Roses Outline stamp set by The Ton. I masked the rose when needed and stamped the leaves from the same stamp set in Twisted Citron DI. I stamped the vase from Fresh Cut Garden Roses stamp set in Crystal Pewter dye ink.
I then colored the images with Zig brush markers. For the vase I used white acrylic paint to give it a little bit of texture, which can't be seen well in the picture. I cut the panel with a Double Stitched Rectangle die and glued it flat on my card base.
While coloring the bottom right rose I added yellow shade to mainly used wine rose. But that looked not good to me, so I decided to color another rose on a piece of separate Bristol smooth paper which I fussy cut and foam mounted onto the rose I didn't like. I added black ink splatter after I covered the roses and the vase. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I stamped it in Noir on a die cut banner. I blended Tattered Rose and Picked Raspberry DI on the edges and foam mounted it on the card.

That's it from me today! Now it's your turn to make a birthday card and link it up in the gallery at Seize the Birthday!

Guest Designing at Less is More #325

Hello and happy Saturday everyone!

Today I have a special card to share with you! Awesome DT ladies from Less is More challenge invited me to be their guest, after my card was showcased at the Less is More 6th Birthday Challenge.  Of course I said YES! Less is More challenge is one of my favorite challenges and is the challenge where I've got my very first recognition with this card :)!

This week is a Recipe week and the cue card says STRIPE!

I like to add stripes in my card as a background. But this time I wanted to give the stripes some meaning more than being a background. So I made grassy hills with my stripes.

I used a stripe from a border stamp set by Waffle Flower. I stamped them in ombre green using Crystal Garden Collection inks by The Ton. I stamped yellow daffodil image from A Bunch stamp set by Penny Black along the way and continued to stamp the stripe after masking the flower image. I used for daffodil copic-friendly Caviar hybrid ink to color them with Copic markers. I added some detail to the flowers using Polychromos pencils and corrected some part of the stripes with pencils too.
The sentiment is from Penny Black. I stamped it on a yellow striped clear acetate strip using black StazOn and mounted it in the same angle as the stripe on the card. To finish off I added some dots using yellow and green Nuvo drops, unfortunately I added some smear of it too :). I obviously need more practice with Nuvo drops!

I hope you enjoyed my card and join in the striped fun at Less is More!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

The Flower Challenge - Sketch Reminder

Hello and happy Saturday everyone!

Today I have a card to share with you which I made for the current sketch challenge at The Flower Challenge! Our talented teammate Vivien has created this sketch for us.
It looks quite CAS! I made a CAS card for the first DT post for this sketch. But this time I went with a busy background :)!

This background was made using Copic markers on a Yupo paper. It was on my to do list for a while. And after seeing Jennifer McGuire's post last week I decided to give this a try.

I started off by scribbling black and cool gray markers on a Yupo paper. I then sprayed rubbing alcohol on it and blew the inks around. I repeated the process until I was happy with the result. Next I die cut the hugs with a word die by The Ton from a Glossy silver glitter paper and once again from a red fun foam. I stacked them together and cut it into a rectangle. The peony is from Loose Peonies stamp set by The Ton. I silver heat embossed a peony on a pink vellum, die cut it with coordinating die and colored it with Copic markers on the back of the vellum.
I then silver heat embossed some leaves and a bud on the background panel. I glued the background panel flat on a black card base, mounted the sentiment panel and the peony on it.
The finishing touch was some Glass Slipper Round Confetti by The Ton.

Black background is not usual for a floral card, but I like how it turned out.
I hope you could give this technique a try!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Looking forward to seeing your projects in the gallery of The Flower Challenge

Have a nice weekend!

Seize the Birthday - Two Pattern Papers

Hello all!
Today is Seize the Birthday-Thursday :)!

The Toppings option for the next fortnight is Two Patterned Papers. As always you can link up any newly created birthday card!

For today I made a card to celebrate the birth of a new baby girl. It's not a usual birthday card, but I thought that the day of birth is the first birthday of a person :). In South Korea, where I come from, the babies are already one year old, when they are born. That means, the time in mommy's belly is also counted as the person's life. Pretty logical!!!

For this card I used a digital floral banner, which is one of free floral banner images from Free Pretty Things for You. I saw this on this card that one of my lovely crafty friends, Hannelie from Desert Diva once made. I added my sentiment on the banner in computer and printed it. I made a cutting file for the circle window which integrate the outline of the banner and cut it from the printed panel using my Cricut. The coloring was done with Copic markers. The baby bodysuit is also cut with Cricut. I used here my first pattern paper. The second pattern paper on this card is the background. I found a pretty pink and purple plaid pattern paper in my stash, glued it on the card base. I foam mounted the front panel, on which I added a pink circle frame. I then adhered the bodysuit on the window and added three pink rhinestones as buttons on it.

That's it from my side. Now it's your turn to create a birthday card using two pattern papers (if you like the Toppings option :))!

Please hop over to Seize the Birthday blog to see what my fellow DT members and our Surprise Party Guest Anita have created to inspire you.

Altenew’s 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to my spot in Altenew's 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop!

If you are arrived here from amazing Flora's blog, you are right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning of the hop, please head on over to Altenew. The complete blog hop list is at the end of this post.

As you may already know Altenew is one of my favorite companies in the world of paper craft. I love their beautiful and detailed floral stamps and have almost all of them, too :).

Happy Anniversary, Altenew!

To celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Altenew I wanted to make a special flower bouquet using several flower stamps by Altenew. I went through all of the Altenew flower stamps I have and chose some for my card. They are Best MomRemember ThisSpring DaisyGarden Treasure and Beautiful Day stamp sets.

I started off by coloring the background of blue sky on a Ranger water color cardstock with Distress inks. I then stamped the flowers in Antique Linen DI along with masking and colored them with Zig brush markers. I added some shiny accents on the stamen of the flowers using Spica glitter pens. After done with coloring I stamped the swing hanging down on a branch from Moments in Time stemp set in Evening Gray. I added some gray shade on the image with Zig brush markers and sparkle using Spica glitter pen.

I trimmed the panel and foam mounted it on a white card base. The sentiment is from Moments in Time stamp set. I white heat embossed it on a strip of black card stock and foam mounted it on the card. Some sequins were my finishing touch.

My second card is featuring Tulip stamp set and Hug Me stamp set from the latest Release. I created a scene with a cute fox laying down on a tulip field who misses someone he loves :). First I stamped the fox on a white card stock and masked him. I then started stamping the tulips in various colors. While I stamped the stem and leaves, I masked the bottom part of the panel with a piece of torn paper. I added details on the tulips with Polychromos colored pencils and colored the foxes using Copic markers. After I masked the fox and the upper area of the panel with a torn paper, I blended green DIs on the bottom part to create grass. I blended the top area in blue and cut the top and bottom edge using deckle scissors to continue the look of the torn paper edge. I then stamped the sentiment from Hug Me stamp set in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed it. I shaped the sentiment in a curve to follow the outline of the fox. I foam mounted the panel on a kraft card base and the fox in a think bubble, die cut using the coordinating die, on the card. To finish off I added some white dots on the grass and on the foxes.

And I have one more card to share with you.
This was made using black magic technique. The look of vibrant flowers on black background is so attractive that I want to try this technique when I see solid flower stamps :).

To start off I stamped the solid flower stamp from Garden Treasure using white pigment ink on a black card stock. I then stamped the outline image in black so I could define the individual petals. I colored the flowers with Prismacolor pencils and added white stamen using a white gel pen and yellow glittery center with Stickles.

I then fussy cut a circle frame out from the panel to show a green glitter card stock which I glued on the card base. I then foam mounted the front panel on the card base. The splatters are mint pearl watercolor. I took the sentiment from Extra Special stamp set. I made a green to black ombre strip using some Distress inks and white heat embossed the sentiment on it. I added a pink ombre strip to the sentiment, which I colored with Prismacolor pencils and foam mounted it on the card. I finished off the card by adding some sequins.

That's it from my side for today's hop! Hope you enjoyed looking and reading my post :)!
